Welcome to the Geek Mummy blog.
Before I get down to the nitty gritty of bringing you blog entries of interest to geek parents, I though I should introduce myself, and this blog properly. The geekmummy is Ruth, wife to John (the geekdaddy), and mummy to two geek children. Our daughter, Catherine, hereafter referred to as the geekdaughter, is a delightful, boisterous, tech-loving toddler. Our son, David, known as the geekson, was born in May of this year, and is still too little to really appreciate the geek way of life, despite his big sister’s best efforts to teach him to play Plants versus Zombies!
Technology and general geekery form a daily part of our lives, and the idea behind this blog is that it gives us a way to share technology news, reviews and advice that is relevant to parents. We’ll be trying to bring you regular updates on things that interest us, or that we find useful.
We live in Cheshire, in England, and there will be, no doubt, some UK-specific content on this blog. However a lot of geek stuff is universal, so I hope this blog will have world-wide appeal.
I’ll be reading this with interest!
Cheers,
RuthJ
I’m really pleased i’ve found this blog! We’re geeky parents ourselves, and our daughter is showing signs of geekiness too – she’s 1 and can already turn the PC on and off…usually when mummy is in the middle of an online fight! We’re also close to Cheshire, the next county in fact, Flintshire 🙂
Nice to meet you Louise, I’ve added your blog to my feedreader. Your family sounds very like ours 🙂
