I’ve been taking part in NaPodPoMo (National Podcast Posting Month) using Audioboo, and yesterday my topic was about how I seem to start lots of things, have a rush of enthusiasm, but then lost my momentum and motivation. I have several examples of that, not least this blog.
As if in answer to my prayer, today I read a tweet that has brought motivation to me.
When I was finding out about the parent blogging community prior to launching this blog, I read about CyberMummy 2010. And I immediately knew I wanted to be there. I want to succeed as a blogger, and the chance to meet up with so many other bloggers, share experiences, find out how others are doing things was something I could see great benefits in.
Sadly, I was too late. By the time I heard about it, CyberMummy 2010 was all over and done with. I’ve been keeping my eyes open for similar events, but not yet found anything.
So to hear that CyberMummy 2011 is coming made me very excited. And it immediately gave me the motivation that I was lacking.
I want to be a good blogger. I believe there is a niche for Geekmummy. I think of all the ideas I have come up with, this is the best, the one I can get behind, the one I am perfectly qualified to write.
I will be attending CyberMummy 2011. And between now and then I will be working to build Geekmummy into the kind of blog that can hold it’s head high alongside the other blogs that will be represented there. That’s the motivation I need to keep working on this blog. And when I’ve spent the next 7 months doing that, it will be ingrained as habit.
You can hear my thoughts on this in today’s Audioboo
