Christmas is all about traditions. I have carried many of the traditions I experienced growing up to my own family. I love that the geekdaughter is now old enough to learn and enjoy our traditions.
And this year, we’re starting a new tradition – new pyjamas for Christmas Eve.
I know a lot of my friends and readers do this already, but it wasn’t a tradition for me growing up (although I did usually get new pyjamas as a Christmas present). From when I first heard about people giving the kids new pyjamas on Christmas Eve I wanted to do it – there’s something lovely about the first night going to bed in new pyjamas, and that must be a really great way to start Christmas.
So this evening we gave the geekdaughter her new Toy Story 3 pyjamas, and the geekson a new vest (he doesn’t wear pyjamas yet as he’s still in a sleeping bag). The geekdaughter thought it was great!
Sadly, she wouldn’t let me take a photo of her in the new pyjamas. So here’s a picture of the geekson in his new vest 🙂
