In the geek family house we are huge fans of the new children’s laureate Julia Donaldson, and have a large collection of her works. The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom have been firm favourites for a very long time, but recently a little upstart called Tabby McTat has become quite often-requested.
There’s a song which is sung several times during the story of Tabby McTat, and the geekdaddy has made up his own tune which he always uses, and insists is the only correct way to sing the song. So much so that whenever he has learned of friends reading the book, he has always made a point of telling them how the song should go!
A good friend of mine who now lives in the States mentioned on Twitter the other day that Tabby McTat is only just being released over there, and I thought I would have to find a way of getting the geekdaddy to sing the song for him. And then I thought why keep this gem to just our closest friends, when I could capture it on video, and share it here for all of you!
So, no excuses now. You all know how to sing the song properly!
