Something has changed in our garden this week. It’s something I’ve wanted to get changed for a couple of years, and thanks to my Mum’s recommendation of a local handyman it’s finally been done. Can you see what it is?
See the difference? Yes, it’s something to do with the shed. No, it’s not (just) that the contents of the shed are all over the place in the second picture. Yes, we’ve had the shed moved!
When we first moved into our house, there was a greenhouse on the far side of the shed. It was old, had a couple of broken panes, and was something we never used. SO we had it taken away a few years ago. Which left our shed sticking out into the middle of that patch of grass, and taking up a lot of room.
We used to have a willow tree in that area as well, which the geekdaughter’s swing hung off. We had that removed when the next door neighbour informed us that he had roots approaching his foundations. We have a grand plan of getting a standalone swing set for the geekdaughter and geekson, but there wasn’t room to put anything with the shed where it was.
So, finally, we found a handyman for the job (thanks again Mum!), and this week he single-handedly moved out shed. Amazingly the shed survived the move, and with a new roof and a coat of creosote it should last us a few years yet! Now we just need to sort all the stuff that came out of the shed, throw away or Freecycle anything we don’t need any more, and get the rest back in the shed, preferably before it rains!
