We’re on holiday this week in the Lake District, and having a lovely time with a large group of friends. That’s a story for another day though. Today I’d like to join in with the lovely Tara Cain’s meme The Gallery. Each week Tara challenges us to share a photo the fits with her chosen theme, and when I found out that this week’s theme was “Animals” I knew I had the perfect picture to share.
I suspect that the geekson may grow up to be a bit of an animal lover. Despite his tender age he already takes more interest in our cats than his sister ever did, and he’s been known to giggle at fields full of cows or sheep as we drive past them in the car.
Yesterday we took a trip to Ducky’s Park Farm, and had a lovely time. The weather wasn’t brilliant, but we managed to see most of their outdoor attractions, and there were plenty of indoor things to do to keep us out of trouble. They succeed very well in their goal of allowing children to get as close to their animals as is safely possible, and this was underlined by the small group of goats who were free to roam around the outdoor areas. I found it particularly amusing when one of these goats sat down on the picnic table we were standing near. And apparently so did the geekson, as this picture shows:
I love the expression on his face in this photo, and the way he clearly shows how excited he is with his hands and arms. I can’t look at this picture without smiling 🙂
This is my entry for The Gallery week 72 – Animals. Follow the link to Tara’s site to see more entries.
P.S. This post is not intended to be a review of Ducky’s Park Farm, but if you’ve landed here from a search engine I will say that it was a good day out and the only negative was the admission prices which I felt were rather high.
