Yesterday the geekdaughter had a birthday party to go to. One of the other little girls in her class at nursery had invited her to a party at a local play barn. It was timed really well so that the geekdaughter could attend her regular Sunday morning swimming class with the geekdaddy, and then the two of them could head straight to the play barn. I stayed at home to look after the geekson, who very considerately had a nice long nap, enabling me to chill out on the sofa and catch up with Saturday night’s “Strictly Come Dancing”.
In the morning when the geekdaughter woke up, she headed downstairs to do some drawing, as she often does. It makes me really proud that in a house where her access to technology like the iPad is pretty much umlimited she usually chooses to entertain herself with a book or some crayons instead! When I found her she showed me her latest creation (see left) and explained it was a picture of the girl whose party she would be attending.
Later on, when the geekdaddy arrived with her at the play barn he asked the geekdaughter what the birthday girl looked like, as he wasn’t sure he would recognise her.
“Well Daddy” said the geekdaughter “she has big friendly eyes. And hair”.
“OK, well that narrows it down!” said the geekdaddy.
“Oh, and a nose, and a mouth that smiles a lot” added the geekdaughter helpfully.
Pretty much just as she drew her really. Cute, eh? 🙂
