The geekdaughter was the same – she focussed on walking first, and then once she’d mastered that her vocabulary just grew and grew. The geekson’s speech seems to be developing slower than I remember the geekdaughter’s doing, but it is equally as wonderful to watch. So, in order to preserve it, I present you with the words the geekson currently knows…

Last week was an exceedingly busy week, but I’m pleased to report that I (mostly) managed to stick to my meal plan made last weekend. My Mum was a star and came over on Friday to help me get the washing up and general housework under control, and I’ve managed to keep everything together since then, including making my meal plan for the week and dashing around Waitrose with the geekdaughter to buy all the supplies. So I’m feeling as prepared and ready for the week ahead as I can be.

by on January 27, 2012

A very good friend of mine once said that she was going to get the words “there is only one of me” tattooed on her forehead. I have to confess in the last few weeks I’ve been tempted to do that myself. Since before Christmas I’ve been working on a very high profile project at work, which has kept me exceeding busy, and I have found myself uttering those six words with alarming frequency…

Listography – top 5 tips for bloggers

January 22, 2012

I make a deliberate attempt to not blog about blogging. It feels very insular and a little bit self-indulgent. It’s not that I don’t have anything to say about blogging, far from it – I did actually register a blogging-related domain name a few months back, with grand plans to start a separate blog all [...]

Nits? Nuts!

January 19, 2012

The geekdaughter really suffers from what I call the “boy who cried wolf” syndrome. She’s taken to claiming illness as a direct result of something happens that she doesn’t like. So far example if I ask her to tidy up her toys, her immediate reaction is to claim tummy ache, or that her foot hurts, [...]

January 13, 2012

In my capacity as an XBox Live Ambassador I’ve been testing out a selection of the new features available in XBox Live, to discover that the XBox really is more than games. I’ve watched movies and TV shows, and this week our assignment is to watch YouTube videos. It’s a hard life isn’t it? Read [...]
