
The geekson is 20 months old, and now that he’s got that walking thing completely sussed, he is making big leaps in his speech. The geekdaughter was the same – she focussed on walking first, and then once she’d mastered that her vocabulary just grew and grew. The geekson’s speech seems to be developing slower than I remember the geekdaughter’s doing, but it is equally as wonderful to watch. I’m determined this time around to keep track of his progress, as I never really did that the first time around. So, in order to preserve it, I present you with the words the geekson currently knows…

Last week was an exceedingly busy week, but I’m pleased to report that I (mostly) managed to stick to my meal plan made last weekend. My Mum was a star and came over on Friday to help me get the washing up and general housework under control, and I’ve managed to keep everything together since then, including making my meal plan for the week and dashing around Waitrose with the geekdaughter to buy all the supplies. So I’m feeling as prepared and ready for the week ahead as I can be.

A very good friend of mine once said that she was going to get the words “there is only one of me” tattooed on her forehead. I have to confess in the last few weeks I’ve been tempted to do that myself. Since before Christmas I’ve been working on a very high profile project at work, which has kept me exceeding busy, and I have found myself uttering those six words with alarming frequency…
