The geekson is 20 months old, and now that he’s got that walking thing completely sussed, he is making big leaps in his speech. The geekdaughter was the same – she focussed on walking first, and then once she’d mastered that her vocabulary just grew and grew. The geekson’s speech seems to be developing slower than I remember the geekdaughter’s doing, but it is equally as wonderful to watch. I’m determined this time around to keep track of his progress, as I never really did that the first time around. So, in order to preserve it, I present you with the words the geekson currently knows…
I should say that whilst this is still quite a short list, he is expanding it every day. He will repeat many more words than this, but these are the ones that he will reliably say without us saying them first.
- Bye bye
- All gone
- Tractor (tar-tar)
- Octonauts (Oct)
- Bob (the builder, obviously!)
- Thank you (pronounced “Kyou”)
and the one I am most proud of…
- iPad (pad)
Yes, you can tell he’s a member of a geek family, can’t you? And just to prove he’s doing it, here’s a really rather cute video of him saying “iPad”:
