It was only a couple of days ago that I attempted to capture all the words the geekson can now say. I’m glad I did, as it’s great to have the record, but of course since then he has learnt even more! I’m not going to attempt to maintain a list of his vocabulary, as I suspect it’s just going to explode over the coming months, but I did have a very cute “conversation” with him a couple of days ago which I wanted to share with you…
It was nappy change time, and the geekson always likes to have a book to look at whilst I change him. This particular day I gave him a nursery rhyme pop-up book. He started off with the “twinkle twinkle little star” page, pointing at all the pictures of stars and saying “star” for each one. Then he turned over a few pages, to a page with a front door that you can open and close to see who is behind it. He opened and closed the door a few times, and then he said something that sounded like “gok gok”.
I wasn’t sure what he meant, but he said it very clearly, and several times. I looked at him, and I must have looked slightly confused because the next thing I knew he had curled his hand up into a fist and made a knocking action on my arm, whilst saying “gok gok” again,
And then I realised – of course! He was saying “knock knock” for the door!
