As I mentioned last week I am trying out the Menus4Mums meal planning service for a few weeks to see if it saves me time and makes the whole meal planning process less stressful for me. So far so good. Both last week and this week my meal plan took mere minutes to put together, compared to previous weeks where I would usually spend up to an hour poring over recipe books and seeking inspiration. The fact that the service only plans 5 of my meals for the week gives room for flexibility, allowing me the odd freezer meal or meal out as and when needed. I’ve found is easy to tweak some of the recipes to feed just two of us for the days the kids are fed at nursery.
Having now cooked some of the meals from the recipes provided by menus4mums I can say that they’ve worked out really well. We didn’t have a single bad meal last week, and the Moussaka went down particularly well, especially with the geekdaddy. I’m looking forward to trying some more new recipes this week. Speaking of which, here’s what we’re going to be eating this week:
Monday: Indian takeaway (my Dad is staying with us)
Tuesday: Lamb Biryani
Wednesday: Sweet and sour fish
Thursday: Savoury turkey mince
Friday: Cottage pie (from the freezer)
Saturday: Home made pizza
Sunday: Turkey lasagne
