I haven’t written a meal planning post for a couple of weeks as we’ve been away on holiday, and I didn’t do any meal planning whilst we were away. Doesn’t that show how much of a chore I think planning meals and cooking them is – when I’m on holiday I just want someone else to do it for me?
Well, we’re home now, and getting back into the normal routine. I’m back at work today after two weeks off, and I’m not looking forward to seeing what’s landed in my Inbox during that time I can tell you! I braved the scales yesterday morning and I’ve only gained 3lb, despite eating takeaway most nights, so I think I probably got off lightly there. I really need to get back to cooking healthy meals for us all, and an important part of that is getting back to the meal planning.
I’m still using the menus4mums meal planning service, and it’s definitely saving me time and money. The fact that they provide 5 planned meals per week is working out perfectly for me, as there’s always a couple of days each week when we have to be flexible around meals. Here’s what this week has in store for us:
Monday: I’ve treated myself to a ready meal as the geekdaddy is off out to the cinema with a mate.
Tuesday: Thai Massaman Beef with Rice
Wednesday: Yummy veggie macaroni bake
Thursday: Pizza fish
Friday: Tuna Lasagne with salad
Saturday: No plan (I’m out with the geekdaughter during the day)
Sunday: Chicken Pilau
All sounds yummy, doesn’t it?
