The geekdaddy and I used to produce a podcast (like an Internet radio show) together, and thoroughly enjoyed making it. The show, called Just Relax It’ll Happen, started life as an infertility podcast, but then on about episode 3 we inconsiderately discovered our first IVF attempt had been successful, and from there on we had to walk the fine line of being an infertility and pregnancy podcast. We took breaks from podcasting after the births of each of our kids, with the break after the geekson’s birth being the longest – somehow two kids take up so much more time than just one!
I’ve mentioned that both the geekdaddy and I attended the BritMums Live blogging conference in June, and came out very inspired. It reminded us of several things, including how much we enjoy working together on something, and how much we enjoyed doing our podcast. We felt that we could probably make the time to record a podcast again, and the time was probably right to step away from Just Relax and step in to something new. Cue much brainstorming and searching for decent domain names, and re-learning about podcast production and hosting which has all moved on since we last did it. Finally we had everything all sussed out, and last week we recorded our first episode of Parental Geekery, which is now available to listen to, both on the website and via iTunes.
As this is our first episode I’m going to post it here too, so you can all have a chance to hear it, but I don’t intend to cross-post every episode this way. If you like the sound of the show then all the information you need about subscribing to future episodes can be found on the shownotes page on ParentalGeekery.com. Please join us over there too
You should be able to play the show through the player above. If you can’t see the player then the show is available at the ParentalGeekery website. Thanks for listening.
