It’s been a week of sickness in the geek household this week, with the geekson being poorly at the start of the week, and then the geekdaughter going down with something very nasty in the middle of the week. I’ve already written a little bit about all this, but I hope you’ll forgive me talking about it a little more, as a number of my photos from the week are related to these events.
We couldn’t send the geekson to nursery on Monday as he’d had an upset stomach over the weekend, so I worked from home to look after him. Thankfully he’s very good at entertaining himself, although apparently he had to dress up in all his outdoor clothes to play with the Duplo…
The geekdaughter went on her first school trip on Wednesday – a class outing to Wonderland in Telford. She was very excited, although I think the thing she was the most excited about was having to take a packed lunch with her rather than having a school dinner! This was my first go at preparing a packed lunch for her, and she was really pleased with it. Apparently she had to go to the toilet mid-way through lunch, and when she came back they’d cleared up already so she didn’t get to eat the yoghurt or the chocolate, which she was very upset about!
I can’t remember exactly how long the shower in our en-suite bathroom has been out of action, but it must be in the region of a year. We do have another shower in our main bathroom, but it’s over the bath and not as good, so I’ve been looking forward to getting this fixed for a while. This week we finally got our new shower, and it’s lovely!
Our Wii-U arrived on Thursday, a day before it’s official launch in the UK (thanks Amazon!). I’ll write more about this in a seperate blog post, but so far we’re really liking it. (Photo by John Arnold as he was stood in a better place than I was!)
The poor little geekdaughter has been proper poorly this week. She started being sick on Wednesday evening, and continued through to Friday. It left her very wiped out, and she spent a lot of Thursday and Friday lying on the sofa watching television (and preventing us playing with our new Wii-U!). Elliott thought this was a lovely plan and enjoyed snuggling up with her.
Due to her inability to keep even fluids down on Friday we ended up being admitted to hospital so that they could check the geekdaughter out. After a lot of hanging around and a general check-up it was decided that she didn’t need to be in hospital and we were sent home again. Thankfully she is now keeping the fluids down and has even managed a few mouthfuls of toast, so we’re hoping she’s on the mend.
