This weekend the geekdaddy and I are abandoning the kids with some very kind friends and family members, and heading off to London for two days. We’re attending the BritMums Live blogging conference, which I’m very excited about as we thoroughly enjoyed it last year, and came away with some amazing inspiration! This year we are the official videographers as well, so we’ll be trying to capture the atmosphere of the event and boil it down into a short film. It’s traditional before attending an event like this to write a blog post introducing yourself to all the new people you’re going to meet, so here is everything you need to know about me, the geekmummy…
Height: About 5ft 6in
Hair: Long, curly and ginger. And yes, it’s all natural
Is this your first blogging conference?
No, I’m a bit of a blogging conference “old hand”, having already attended several, and even spoken at one or two!
Are you attending both days?
Yes I am.
What are you most looking forward to at BritMums Live 2013?
Meeting old friends and new, cheering the winners of the Brilliance in Blogging awards, shedding tear or two during the bloggers keynote, some time away from the kids with my husband, inspiring stories and useful workshops. Would probably have been quicker to just say “all of it” wouldn’t it?
What are you wearing?
My outfit has been sponsored by Zalando who gave me a £100 voucher to treat myself, so I’ve picked out a stylish pair of jeans which I’ll be living in for the two days, plus a rather nice top for the BiB awards ceremony. Pictures will follow
What do you hope to gain from BritMums Live 2013?
I want to make new friends and learn new things
Tell us one thing about you that not everyone knows
I met my husband over the “Internet” (well, technically it was the University’s JANET network, as it was in the days before the World Wide Web and the Internet as we know it today existed. Yes, I know – I don’t look old enough, do I? )
If you’re going to BritMums Live and spot me, please come over and say hi! And I warn you, I have a dreadful memory for names and faces, so even if you think I should recognise you please forgive me if I look blank and ask who you are!
