It has been a completely mad week, and I am very tired at the moment. Three evenings out (two rehearsals for the play and one “treat” night) plus a day trip to London have taken their toll, and when you add in a couple of early mornings, one when my son woke us by crying at 5.30 because he’d lost his blankie and this morning, when I could have had more sleep but for some reason was just wide awake at 6.30 – ugh! So I haven’t felt very inspired in the photography department, but am proud that I’ve still managed to stick to my resolution and post a photo each day. Here are my photos from this week:
Sunday 23 February 2014: Half Term is Over
It’s the end of my daughter’s half term holiday. Tomorrow morning she goes back to school, I go back to work, my son goes back to nursery, and my husband gets some peace at last!
We’ve had a fun week, but it’s gone really quickly. This is my daughter’ school book bag and PE kit bag, hanging on the cupboard door all ready for her in the morning.
Monday 24 February 2014: New gadget!
I’ve had a really busy day today – back to work after a week off, and then after work I had just enough time to get home and cuddle the kids for a few mines before it was time to go out again for my play rehearsal. I don’t feel like I’ve stopped, and I certainly haven’t had many opportunities for photos.
I did get a fun delivery today though – a new webcam which I ordered a couple of days ago. My husband and I have some quite ambitious ideas for our podcast (Parental Geekery) and are going to be using this new webcam to see if we can record video as well as audio. Watch this space!
Tuesday 25 February 2014: Blogging on the move
I spent about four hours on trains today – I had to travel to London and back for a meeting. It was a very long day – I left the house at 6.15am and didn’t get home until gone 7pm. But one advantage of all this travel is that I managed to get several blog posts written whilst travelling. This is my mobile setup – my iPad mini with a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and the Blogsy app. Watch out for several new posts on my blog over the next few days 🙂
Wednesday 26 February 2014: An Evening Out
As part of my Mum’s Christmas present I bought two tickets for Brendan Cole’s UK tour (he of Strictly Come Dancing fame). We went to see the show tonight and really enjoyed it, it was lovely to have some grown up time with my mum 🙂
Thursday 27 February 2014: Learning about Africa
My six year old daughter is learning about Africa at school this term. Over the half term holiday she disappeared into her bedroom and a few minutes later appeared with this piece of writing for me. She’d obviously done a “brain dump” of diverting she’d learned.
I must confess to having a proud parent moment as I think she’s written it all very nicely 🙂
Friday 28 February 2014: Enjoying Disney Infinity
Today will go down in history as the day my son discovered he loves Disney Infinity! The iPad (his usual gaming platform of choice) lay discarded in favour of playing one of The Incredibles and destroying robots!
Since his sister got the game for Christmas he’s enjoyed sitting next to her and making his character move around, but today it all seemed to click for him, and he started actually playing.
I snapped this picture while he was playing – I am loving the x100 for shots like this!
Saturday 1 March 2014: My Cat and Me
I was solo-wrangling the kids today as my husband was out all day. This included two hours at the local play barn for my nephew’s birthday party. By the time we got home this afternoon I was exhausted and had a little lie down on the sofa whilst the kids played. As so often happens I was joined by my elderly Devon Rex cat, and we had a nice snuggle together. As he is old and infirm I don’t know how many more of these moments I will have, so I thought I should take a picture.
