Happy Easter everyone! We’ve had a busy week this week, but I’ve still managed to get a few of the little chores done that I wanted to do whilst off work. Some decluttering has been done – not as much as I’d hoped, but progress has definitely been made. We’ve also had the confirmation this week of the geekson’s school place – he’ll be starting at our local primary school in September. It was pretty much guaranteed, given that we’re in the catchment area and his sister is already there, but it was still good to get it in writing. The poor boy has not been happy this week as I took him to nursery for his usual two days, but he could tell his sister and I were both going to be around, and was very sad about not staying with us. In some ways it will be easier when both kids are on holiday at the same time, in other ways it’s going to be a lot harder! Anyway, here’s my photo selection from this week:
Sunday 13 April 2014: I Want to Play
We went to a blogger event today that was held at the V&A Museum of Childhood in London. After the event finished we took a little look around the museum before heading home, and my son was (unsurprisingly) drawn to all the exhibits that contained cars. I managed to grab this picture of him, which I’m really pleased with.
Monday 14 April 2014: Two Cute Dinosaurs
We were sent these two cute dinosaur costumes by 20th Century Fox to promote the DVD release of their movie Walking With Dinosaurs. I spent a lot of the afternoon trying to get a picture of both kids together in them, and this was the best I got. It’s not completely in focus, but I love my daughter’s expression in it. They were both having a lovely time and really enjoyed dressing up 🙂
Tuesday 15 April 2014: Making Pizza
We went to a blogger event today and as part of the day we went for lunch at a restaurant which allowed the kids into the kitchen to make their own pizza. Here are my two in action – my son couldn’t quite believe he was being allowed to put his own toppings on!
Wednesday 16 April 2014: Man in a tree
My daughter is off school for the Easter holidays, but my poor son still has to go to nursery two days per week. We’re taking a slightly different route to drop him off and collect him as we’re not having to do the school run as well. Walking back this morning after dropping him off my daughter spotted this face on one of the trees an our estate, and she instructed me to take a photo of her with it!
Thursday 17 April 2014: Exercising in the park
We spent a couple of hours in our local park today having a family photo shoot with the lovely Tom Arber. This is to get some decent pictures of the four of us together, given that my son is almost 4 and there is only one known photo in existence of all of us! Whilst in the park we stayed away from the children’s play area which is our usual hangout, and explored some of the wider area. We discovered there is now a whole section of exercise equipment which the kids spent a merry time playing on, even though they were far too small for it all!
Friday 18 April 2014: Hello bunny!
We went out this afternoon to a local country store which has a tea room and kids outdoor play area. It’s really nice to be able to sit and enjoy a coffee whilst the kids race around and burn off loads of energy!
This place also has a few farm animals, and my son was fascinated by a very large rabbit in its hutch. He spent quite a long time making friends 🙂
Saturday 19 April 2014: Looking out
It was a lovely, sunny day today, which we almost completely wasted by going to the cinema to watch Muppets Most Wanted. However on the way back to the car afterwards both kids went dashing ahead and climbed on the railings to admire the view. I managed to quickly grab this shot of the two of them together – they’re both growing up so fast!
