Wow, what a busy two weeks we’ve had. We’ve managed to pack an awful lot into the kids’ Easter holidays, including a fabulous family holiday to Disneyland Paris. I can’t believe they’re back to school tomorrow, and I’m back to work 🙁 This is a mammoth two week catch-up of my daily photo project, simply because I didn’t get a chance to write my post last week due to being up to my eyeballs in packing and sorting. So here’s my selection of daily photos from the last two weeks:
Sunday 5 April 2015: Easter Geocaching
After the kids had gorged themselves on Easter chocolate, I decided we’d take advantage of the lovely weather and do a spot of geocaching. We found some new caches in our home town, and had the added bonus of finding this lovely den along the way.
Monday 6 April 2015: Bedtime Aeroplane
My son’s latest favourite bedtime game with his Dad!

Tuesday 7 April 2015: Gadget Show Live
For the second year running I was given a ticket to the Press preview day at the Gadget Show Live exhibition at the Birmingham NEC. I had a really fun day out seeing all sorts of interesting new tech. You can read about the best 10 things I saw in my blog post about the day.
Wednesday 8 April 2015: Twitterversary
Apparently I published my first ever tweet 8 years ago today. I love the Timehop app for reminding me of things like that!
So #timehop just found proof that I’ve been tweeting longer than most. Here’s my “hello world” post from 8 years ago today! #tw #365 98/365 A photo posted by Ruth Arnold (@r2uk) on
Thursday 9 April 2015: My Beautiful Girl
We attended a Samsung press event today to launch their new Kids Club offering on their smart TVs. There was a balloon artist and face painting to entertain the kids, and here is my beautiful girl with her face painted.
Friday 10 April 2015: Sunbathing
My dear old Devon Rex cat now spends most of his time in the kitchen asleep. However every now and again he ventures a little further afield, and today I found him sunbathing on the sofa.
Saturday 11 April 2015: Watching the Ferry
We arrived in Dover this afternoon ready for an overnight stay in the Premier Inn before catching the ferry to France tomorrow. We took a walk along the sea front and my son enjoyed watching the ferries coming in and out of the port.
Sunday 12 April 2015: Pebble Beach
Back out on the beach at Dover, which is very pebbly. However my son had a lovely time throwing stones into the sea, and would have happily stayed here as long as we’d let him!
Forget Disneyland Paris, all the small boy needs to be happy is the beach. The sea and an endless supply of pebbles 🙂 #23snaps #david #365 102/365 A photo posted by Ruth Arnold (@r2uk) on
Monday 13 April 2015: Meeting Mickey
Our first full day at Disneyland Paris, and I’d booked lunch at Cafe Mickey to allow the kids to meet some characters. They were delighted to meet the Mouse himself!
Tuesday 14 April 2015: Princess Time
After meeting Mickey yesterday, today was all about the princesses. We had lunch at the gorgeous Auberge de Cendrillon next to the Cinderella castle at Disneyland Paris, and met several princesses, including Cinderella herself, with Prince Charming.
Today we’re all about the princesses 🙂 #23snaps #david #catherine #tw #365 104/365 A photo posted by Ruth Arnold (@r2uk) on
Wednesday 15 April 2015: Lightsaber Battles
We seem to have spent a disproportionate amount of our time at the “Build Your Own Light Saber” stand in the Disney Store this week! My husband has been perfecting his light saber, and of course it has needed a lot of testing, with any willing volunteer he can find.
Thursday 16 April 2015: What it’s like being married to a photographer
I like sharing “behind the scenes” photos of what it’s like being married to a photographer every now and again, and this one just made me chuckle. Here we are, in the beautiful surroundings of Disneyland Paris, and he’s taking close up shots of the flowers!
Friday 17 April 2015: The highlight of my holiday
Well, the BEST thing about the whole holiday has been how much the kids have loved it. But for me, meeting Tigger was my personal highlight 🙂
This completely made my holiday… #tw #365 107/365 A photo posted by Ruth Arnold (@r2uk) on
Saturday 18 April 2015: Tooth Fairy time again
The first of her front teeth came out before Christmas, and since then the other front tooth has been getting more and more wobbly, making it very difficult for my poor daughter to eat. Today, with a little bit of help from Daddy, it finally came out, and she’s all ready for another tooth fairy visit tonight.
