Panasonic Brit Blogger LogoRegular readers of this blog will know that last year I worked with Panasonic as part of their Intelligent Living Mums programme. I got a trip to their Head Office, played with some great household appliances, and shared my experiences with you over several blog posts. I am delighted to be able to announce that Panasonic have now invited me to work with them again on their new Brit Bloggers programme. Over the next year I am going to learn all about their Smart TVs and home audio-visual products, and I’ll share what I learn with you again over the course of a few blog posts.

Room 101

by on August 9, 2013

keep calm and put it in room 101On the whole I am a very mild mannered individual. I don’t tend to rant, and if i do have negative thoughts or feelings I usually choose to express them in person to people who know me well, rather than here on my blog for the world to see. I have had the odd rant here, of course, but as someone who can usually see both sides of the argument and find some positive in everything I usually take an “each to his own” attitude to things that might make me ranty, and move on.

However, today I have free rein to rant. I’ve been challenged by Sally who blogs at Who’s The Mummy? to tell you what three things I would send into Room 101. Have you heard of Room 101? It was the name of the torture chamber in George Orwell’s book 1984, and later re-purposed for a TV show where celebrities were encouraged to share their pet hates and try to encourage the host to condemn them to Room 101. So today I am going to tell you the three things that make me most ranty, that I want to send into Room 101.

girl with chocolate on her noseThis month the members of the Tots100 Center Parcs Blogger family have been asked to turn our hands to all things sweet, particularly chocolate, by getting creative in the kitchen and sharing our best recipes on our blogs. Now I must confess that whilst we in the geek family are partial to a bit of chocolate, we’re not what I would could creative in the kitchen! Not to be deterred though we accepted the challenge and recently spent the afternoon making our own chocolate creations…

Center Parcs Blogger FamilyThe sharp-eyed amongst you might have noticed this shiny new badge appear in my sidebar recently. I am delighted to be able to announce that I have been selected to join the Center Parcs blogger family for 2012/13. I achieved this by winning a Tots100 competition where we were asked to create a Pinterest mood board of our ideal Center Parcs family break. You can see my board here. As one of their 12 family bloggers I will be working with the Center Parcs team, taking part in regular challenges (I don’t know much about these yet other than they should be something fun for me to do with the kids), and also I will get to take the whole geek family on a short break at my chosen Center Parcs (Whinfell Forest) to review.

Five essential apps for mobile blogging

September 22, 2012

In the days before I owned a laptop computer, I used to take my big hefty desktop PC (along with huge CRT monitor) on holiday with me. Then I got a laptop, and marvelled at how much lighter and more portable it was, and how much more car space I had when going on holiday! […]

Perfect weather to be thinking about Autumn and Winter

July 31, 2012

It’s the perfect weather to be thinking about the Next Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Or at least so it seemed when the invitation to a blogger event to view the collection came through a few weeks ago. This was before the summer started, when we were all still grappling with the idea of switching our heating […]

Why I love blogging

June 19, 2012

I love blogging, I really do. This blog started almost two years ago as a way to keep my brain active whilst I was on maternity leave with the geekson. Since my return to work almost a year ago it has become my relaxation, my way to wind down in the evenings. This blog is […]

LEGO DUPLO blogger panel and cupcakes!

March 13, 2012

For all our technology-loving ways, there are still some traditional toys that we as a family love, and one of those toys is LEGO. Both the geekdaddy and I remember fondly playing with LEGO as kids, and we’re really looking forward to loads of LEGO playtime with our kids. The geekdaughter got her first LEGO […]

You’re going *where* for a Christmas party?!

December 14, 2011

“You’re going where for a Christmas party?!” was a very common response whenever I announced that I was heading off to Butlins at Bognor Regis for the Tots100 Christmas party. Yes, I know, it’s Butlins, and it’s also a very very long way away from my home in South Cheshire. However, having been to a […]

A taste of Spring with Next

December 2, 2011

I think I may have admitted before that I’m not a fashion blogger. I have never kept up with fashion, as I am sure anyone who meets me or scrutinises my wardrobe would easily spot! But as a mother of two I do a lot of clothes shopping, and one clothes supplier which seems to […]
